My sister recently gave me a baby sling she used with both of her kids and asked if there was something I could do with it. My sister is fabulous and always loves a little glitz and glam so I really struggled with what I should do with the material ( it is a lightweight cotton with a bit of wear from use).
She's a hair stylist and always has her hair and makeup just right. So I thought, what does she always have in her purse? A Cosmetic Bag of course!
I happened to have picked up a few placemats at the Salvation Army about a year ago and came across them the other day and knew they would be perfect for this project!
Using a material that is special to someone and paired with reducing waste by using a placemat that otherwise may not have had a future, I feel amazing that I could put these two materials together and give them a second chance, a new life!
And just like that... old, discarded material is new again!!!
...and I happen to have 1 more placement and some more of the cotton from the sling! I think this calls for a mother/daughter set!!!
